Species List for 23/7/2014

Still quite warm, min 17.4 deg C, and lots of moths, but mainly the usual suspects. There were five new species for the year. In total 645 moths of 99 species, including 132 micros of 34 species. There should be more but some of the tiny dots elude capture and me identifying them!

 White Line Dart had become annual, albeit in small numbers, although my first did not occur until 2009.

 Four Heralds in one night makes this the year with most records of this moth, featured on the back spine of  "The Field Guide".

Small Purple-barred is quite regular as a day flying moth, particularly down on the old tramway at Langdon. This is only the fifth I've caught in the garden and the first since  2009.
