Species List for 03/07/2026

 THe usual four traps. A 125W Robinson in the Back Garden, a 125W MV Robinson in the Pond Garden, a 15W Actinic in the Front Garden, and a 80W MV Skinner in the Greenhouse Garden. In addition there were two traps from mothing guest Henry Wyn Jones, a 2 x 20w and a 2 x 30w Actinic traps. One place byu the Garage and one outside my study. It was a coolish breezy might and the catch was only average. There were 383 moths of 103 species with five NFY. A good mothing session with a keen young naturalist is always fun. While we went through the traps a Humming-bird Hawk-moth was  nectaring on the  Buddleia next to the mothing room. After a brief stop for refreshments we popped down to Kingsdown in search of Bright Wave for Henry, we failed at this point, although Henry found two later, when he had another try on the way to Sandwich. WE did however find a beautiful resh Sussex Emerald, and a Toadflax brocade caterpillar.
