Species List for 24/08/2026

 My Four traps, a 125W Robinson in the Back Garden, a 125W MV Robinson in the Pond Garden, a 15W Actinic in the Front Garden, and a 80W MV Skinner in the Greenhouse Garde, plus a portable Actinic trap  on loan from Sam Perfect. The night temperature dropped to around 16 deg C, but the wind was E-NE at about 16-24 mph, which has a major affect on the catch, particularly in the Back Garden Robinson. There were 255 moths of 47 species.

There were 325 moths of  57 species with three NFY. The Loxostege sticticalis was the sixth record of this scarce migrant I have had here.

The minimum temperature was around 12 deg C with a breeze from the SE. There were 265 moths of 50 species, including a beautiful pristine Convolvulus Hawk-moth.

A  cooler night dropping to 12 deg C. three degrees lower than the previous night and about  seven degrees lower than five nights before. There were 277moths of 41 species. A Hummingbird Hawk-moth was as always a welcome find.
