Species List for 20/08/2026

Just two traps, a 125W Robinson in the Back Garden, a 125W MV Robinson in the Pond Garden. The wind had become more strong and the overnight forecast predicted a high chance of rain. The wind had dropped by the morning and significant rain did not arrive. However the back garden Robinson performed well and the commoner species were well supplemented. There were 449 moths of 59 species with one, very important NFY, a small Ranunculus. In 1997 (I think that's the right year), a message that Ann Lawson and her partner had caught a moth, that according to "Skinner" was extinct in the UK. I went and saw it and Andy explained the workings of a moth trap and I was hooked. I did catch six  Small Ranunculus in Crayford, three in 2099 and three in 2000. Since I have been in St Margaret's I have caught, just one in July 2016, so this one is long overdue.
