Again the temperature remained reasonably mild with a min temp 11.1 deg C but with a moderate to fresh breeze for the SW moth activity was poor. Even so there were three new species for the year in the 15 moths that did oblige. In most years Setaceous Hebrew Characters arrive at the very end of May or the beginning of June, but in 2007 it was May 8th and in 2011and then this year May 7th. First dates for the Cabbage are similarly normally at the beginning of June and once again the earliest date of May 7th in 2011 and this year. The Broad-barred White is the third earliest I've had, one on April 24th and another on May 4th in 2007 being the only earlier records.
