A real surprise today when I opened my 80W No1 trap and the first moth I saw was a Scarce Merveille du Jour. We're not close to any known breeding colonies and not near any extensive Oak Woodland, so is it a migrant I ask myself?

Four Traps on, and threy all survived the most amazing electric storm I've seem in the UK, it was as if Id' brought the weather from Costa Rica. A beautiful Small Elephant Hawk-moth was appreciated by Sam and Eliot.
