I think that this is a Brindled Green, but since I don't normally catch them and there are a few similar moths confirmation would be good. Over 20 people had a look, Richard Moore agreed and no one disagreed with the ID.
Sure is Tony, i've never seen one in my Garden but got loads at local woodland ranging from grey to dark green almost black, very confusing I agree. Apparently they favour mature Oaks.
